OPOS Cluster Beans (Kothavarangai )Paruppu Usili | OPOS Recipe

 I love usili,its best combination for mor kuzhambu.But sometime lazy to cook usili becoz it takes long time to prepare.After the saw the youtube video gave a try and loved the taste.Thxs to RK sir,who is the founder of the OPOS Recipe.


Here one thing i want to mention.I gave 2 whistle to cook the usili in PC becoz hubby doent like the crunchy tatste.hence its dull in colour but taste is awesome and soft.

If you like crunchy taste then 1 whistle is enough to cook.lets go on the procedure.

Preparation time : 1 hr for soaking the dal + 5 mins
Cooking time : < 6 mins
Serves : 4

Ingredients:

Cluster beans - 2 cups(finely chopped )
Channa dal - 3/4 cup
Dry red chilli -5
Hing -1/4 tsp
Salt-To taste
Water -2 tbsp
Oil - 1 tsp

Method:

*Soak the dal for an hour,Drained the water completely and grind with salt,red chilli,hing to a coarse/smooth paste without adding water.Make a small sized balls and keep it aside.

*Mix the cluster beans with little salt and keep it aside.

*In a PC add 2 tbsp water+1 tsp oil and spread with cluster beans.

 *Top with Lentil balls.
 *Cook at high flame for 2 whistle.
 *Release the pressure and take out the balls.Once the lentil balls cooled down ,grind it in mixie in a pulse mode.
*If you prefer tadka the tempering with 1 tsp oil, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds and few curry leaves. Mix with crumled lentil balls and cluster beans and Serve !!
